The 2010 film Brighton Rock is about clashes between urban youth gangs, but when I heard John Hurt’s voice in the sample on dBridge’s brilliant “Own the Town,” I immediately thought of Lord of the Flies.

 

So I paired it with scenes from the definitive 1964 version, and the tribal atmosphere of the track really couldn’t belong in any other film. That’s why I called it “Own the Flies.”
